I have a vector used to send calls to a VDN extension off-site to a remote Help Desk. How can I force the system to keep the the internal VDN name displayed on caller's phones, rather than the name of the outgoing trunk group used ?
Thanks, but I didn't explain it correctly. Users are calling a vdn at their local site and the vector is routing the call off-net via the PSTN. Their display reverts from the name of the VDN they called, to the PSTN local trunk group name being used to route the call.
Thanks, I thought of that but that would also affect all outgoing calls on that trunk group. Users are used to seeing the trunk group name on outgoing PSTN calls, but not on "internal" 5 digit extension-to-extension calls.
I can't test it on my system, but what if you do this:
If the Help Desk extension is x1234, make it an actual extension in the system with a coverage path whose first coverage point is a new VDN number that points to the vector that routes to the outside number?
