All of users are in the a Win2K domain and have a roaming profile. We have a few select machines that we would like to force the users to get a default profile and not a roaming profile. Is this possible?

I know I can have the machine delete the cached profile when th user logs out, but this will not work in this case.

Hmm, not 100% clear on what you are asking....Is it that you want these users to 1. obtain a default profile, and 2. continually use this profile without allowing them to modify the desktop and such?

Have you created a profile and modified the NTUser.dat to NTUser.man?

See the doc: for a further explanation.

I hope this is what you were looking for. Hewissa

mrtoledo,

Not really no. Profiles are specific to the users.

You could

1- Redirect the Start Menu & Desktop so partially the profile will look generic but in reality won't be
2- Use TS. Terminial services allows two profiles one for interactive machine one for network access machines
3 - Create unique users for these machines

Ash.
