I am using Netbackup 3.4 on a Solaris box and was wondering if there's any way to force repeated backups to write to new tapes regardless as to whether existing 'in use' tapes are full or not?

I am doing some year-end stuff and will be backing up using the same backup policy several times on the same day and need each one to write to a different tape in the jukebox.

Many thanks.

create a new pool so that a fresh tape will be pulled from scratch.
Use a post processing script (...goodies/bpend_notify) to suspend the tape when the backup is finished.

Your gonna like NB 5.x with multiple inline tape copies available. Perhaps you could upgrade soon?
