force mergefield update for {includepicture}?

[simmerdown]

on that same Staff Directory project [see thread68-384950 for other fun], WordXP now won't update any of the {includepicture} fields after merging. I select all and hit F9, and nothing happens. Not an image do I see.

Is there another way to command Word to update merge fields (besides using F9)?

When I hit alt+f9 to reveal the code, I see that Word did insert the correct path to the images. The images still don't display in the document, though.

the include code after the merge looks like this:
[COLOR=880000]{includepicture "I:\\Inet\\Public\\CSSrvcs\\Roster\\Pictures\\729.jpg"}[/color]

Oh, and MsKB hasn't been helpful.

You might just need to clean up your PC. Perhaps you're resources are dwindling due to temp files.
