Is there anyway to force WinXP to load the keyboard driver even if a keyboard is not connected?
I have an arcade style joystick which works through the keyboard port. There is a keyboard passthrough on the back of it to connect your keyboard. If the keyboard isn't attached during bootup, the keyboard driver is not loaded and the joystick does not work. I currently use a USB keyboard with this machine, so I know have to keep a PS/2 keyboard handy in the event I need to reboot the machine. Not very convenient. I suppose if you were running the machine as a server, you might also want to do this if you didn't have a keyboard connected all the time. Just plug one in as needed.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeff
