Force File Download Javascript

Hi,

I have an image xyz.gif. I have an HTML button. How do I set the onclick event of the button to start a download of xyz.gif? (i.e. save as)?

i dont think that can be done, try openening a new window with the gif and in that window:
document.execCommand("SaveAs")

Known is handfull, Unknown is worldfull
