Force a screen resolution?

Hi,

I recently bought a 19" widescreen monitor and all is good. I have two computers hooked up to a KVM (Linux server, Windows XP workstation) and that is all working fine.

My problem is this:

If I turn on the XP machine (and have the KVM switched the Linux machine), when I switch back to the XP machine it has the wrong resolution and everything is blurry. When I go into display properties, it has a wrong list of supported resolutions which go to double the Max supported resolution (1440x900).

If I reboot (whilst keeping the machine switched to the XP machine) everything is OK. Similarly if I have the KVM switched to the XP machine and power on, it is all good. Display properties are correct, showing the max resolution at 1440x900.

I have a feeling that it is the KVM that is responsible for this, however it would be really good if there was some way I could force the resolution to 1440x900.

Any ideas?

It sounds like your monitor isn't "Auto adjusting". Look in your menus for your monitor.
