I'm opening up another person's Indesign documents that they have paxkaged. I have Indesign CS3 and they probably have CS or CS2. Both of us are on PCs.

This person has packaged her InDesign document and has burnt it to a CD for me. When I open the CD it tells me that I'm missing some of the fonts. I have tried installing the fonts in my font's library (in the control panel)but they don't install, I receive a message that says that they font is either invalid or damaged. All othe fonts listed in the packaged font folder list the files being 0KB in size. Can someone please help me with this?

Thanks a bunch! Happy Holidays!

All you can do is try to get the fonts from somewhere. Either buy them or get the person to resupply the fonts.

If the fonts are 0kb, you probably have a Mac CD in your hands. There are ways to deal with this but sharing fonts is typically not legal - - - so your best options are to either find your own copy of the fonts or to have the person send a PDF file with the fonts embedded.

Hi

Contact the person who gave you the disk and ask her to E-Mail you the fonts as an attachment.

I have had to do this on several occasions in the past.

Since you are both on a PC you she can go to the Windows /Fonts folder and select them then go to Edit/Copy to copy them. The right click drop down doesn't let you copy.

Paste them into a folder and then grab them from the folder as an attachment.
It works with either TT or Type one fonts. When you get them save them in a folder and go to control panel and install them from the Fonts Icon.
