fonts in ps 5.5

Fonts won't load properly in my version of 5.5...when I checked both the common folders and the windows font folders, for some reason bryce 4 has taken over the adobe fonts. I have uninstalled bryce 4 now....but I cannot get the fonts to load up. Anyone techie enough to walk me through putting my fonts to rights?
