My operating system is a Mac 9.2 and Quark version 4.0.
There are only a handful of fonts that do not appear jagged on the screen and when I print. These same fonts appear and print out just fine in Illustrator. I've tried installing Adobe Type Manager Deluxe and this froze up my computer. I had to uninstall the software.
What am I doing wrong?

MacOS 9 requires two versions of the fonts to be installed into the system font folder. One Screen version and one Printer version. Check to see if the Jaggy fonts are missing the Printer fonts. You should see the screen font (ex. Garamond) and printer font (ex. GaramBol, GaramBoo, GaramIta). Without the printer fonts, quark will still recognize the font is loaded but will not display or print properly. Also, I think ATM deluxe had some conflict with some font management software like Suitcase. You might try ATM light. free download at

Thanks for your help. I installed ATM Light yesterday. Now my fonts appear and print perfectly.
