Folders keep coming up missing

I manage a network here at work and one of my w2k servers is suddenly experiencing a strange problem. A bunch of folders in a share disappeard the other day, thanks to a good backup I was able to restore everything. Today the customer called and said that folders have disappeared again. I've set auditing on delete for the parent folder after the first problem but not getting any hits. I'm insisting to the customer that someone is moving the folders but they insist that no one is. Is there a way to audit movement of files/folders? Any ideas as to any other reason these folders are disappearing?

Have you checked to see if someone is changing rites to the folders? If someone takes a folder that is a parent, and unchecks inherit rites, the folders below it will disappear, but still be there. Check the rites before you do anymore backups.
