Hey, I have just changed the storage location of the "my documents" folder redirection and for some reason the new location will not apply via group policy.

I checked the permissions on the new location and they are the same as the old location, but each workstation was still pointing back to the original Storage location.

I even gone to the extent of removing the "My Documents" redirecrion alltogether after setting the existing policy to move the files back to the original location. This worked fine but I can't get these files to move to the New Storeage Location.

Has anyone got any Ideas?

Thanks for the artical, but I know how to do this, what I want to know is why doesn't it work.

Is there anything in event viewer of one of the workstations that gives a clue? If it tried to redirect to the new location and couldn't for some reason there should be something logged.
Also could it be a replication issue for the gpo? Perhaps it hadn't been updated depending on how long you waited to try it out. Not sure of your set up but just another thought. Good luck!

In the My Documents redirection in the GPO their is a tick for giving full contol access to the user. Take the tick off. If that doesn't work try giving 1 user temporary domain admin rights and try logging on again.
