Hey,

I remember if you networked a Win98 machine you could set access according to passwords on specific folders. Can you have a certain folder in Windows2000pro have password access? If so how?

Thanks in advance! --"Hello Microsoft? Yeah this is Mike again.. now it says: "Hit any key when ready..." My question is: "Where's the "any key"? Is my keyboard broken..?

Windows 95/98 supported share level access control, which is what you are after. Windows 2000 just supports user level access control.

You can get round this in some environments by creating a dummy user and just giving access to the share to that user, then any user can access it using 'connect as...' but that's a bit of a pain.

Otherwise you would need a third party tool, encryption for example. Heath
