Hey all,
Interesting problem here. Anyone know the reg key that is responsible for the "open each folder in its own window" setting? Computer continues to open each folder in a seperate window, even tho Folder Options -> Browse folders is set to open in the same window. Only thing I can think of is a corrupt or conflicting reg setting.
Thanks in advance for any help.

An interesting quirk in XP I have seen on some machines is that after coming out of Safe Mode, that particular users (only Admin users) folder settings are always set to open in the same window.

Try a short visit to Safe Mode and see what happens after exiting Safe Mode.

On a more general approach see if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Explorer.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

Some mention of Registry here.

Thanks, Linney. That's the key I was looking for. Next time I look at the PC, I'll check that.
I'm suspicious that the key will look right, tho.
Guess I should check for some program they have running that is causing a conflict.
I'll keep you posted.
