Hi Everyone,

I am slightly puzzled as I thought this would be an easy job, but apparantly not!

I am trying to create a folder for all users in my Exchange organisation within their mailbox.

For example, I would like to automatically create each user a "Spam" folder, so that filtered e-mail is automatically put here by GFI MailEssentials.

Please can anyone advise how to do this, if it is possible?

I have had a Google but it doesn't appear to bring any article of any use up...?

Thanks & Regards,
Mike

Outlook 2003 already has a Junk Mail folder and GFi can utilise it.

Hi Zelandakh,

Unfortunately I am not Outlook 2003 across the board :( I have lots of Office 2000 and a tiny amount Office 2000.

What I would like to do is create a generic folder across all of these clients.

Any idea's at all?

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry typo there...

Should have read:

"I have lots of Office 2000 and a tiny amount Office 2003."

Thanks,
Mike

If you have Exchange 2003 CALs then you are licensed for Outlook 2003 already and can deploy it (heck, do it with a GPO if you feel clever) and then you'll have Junk Folders.

Zelandakh - MWAH! Thankyou....

I didn't realise the Exchange 2003 CAL bundled Outlook 2003 as well but now you've said it, it makes sense because they have discontinued this in Exchange 2007 I hear...

Thanks for that....very well thought out idea... ;)

Getting back to the root problem, if you are using GFI and you want to use the "Move to subfolder" option in the actions for the filter, then just type in the name of the subfolder and GFI will automatically create the folder if it processes a SPAM message.

ie:
Inbox/_SPAM/

will create a folder called _SPAM under the users Inbox.

Nsantin,

I had wondered if it would create it automatically, that is great news!

Thanks for letting me know, * awarded...thanks for the useful replies guys.
