I am just learning flash and am interested in knowing how to create the effects on the above website with the pictures and the words. Does anyone know a good tutorial?
any suggestion, links would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

What you need to know is all about Motion Tweening on the timeline.

I don't know of any tutorials because I don't regularly visit the tutorial sites but I'll try to explain briefly..

Start a new file and on the main timeline, insert a layer or change the existing one and call it "Pictures". Then in the first frame, import a photo/image to the library - File >> Import to Library. Then open the library (CTRL + L) and drag an instance of the photo onto the stage/page..
Right click on the frame in the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween. Then insert a new KeyFrame about 15 frames along. You'll notice that the timeline frames are now purple, indicating a tween.
In the first frame, select your photo and scale it down to as small as you want it (right-click the photo and select scale). So basically, the first frame has a small image and the last frame has the normal sized image..

Now test the movie (Control >> Test Movie) and take a look..
If you want to creat the same effect as the site you mentioned, you could change the Alpha setting (basically the transparency) to 0% or 30% of the image in the first frame. Do this by selecting the image and in the Color box in the properties bar, select Alpha and change the value using the slider..

Now test the movie again and it should look something like the website. You can do the same with text too..

Well, I hope this helps..

Cheers,
