hi everyone,
i have a compaq floppy drive with a paralell cable (printer cable). i'm trying to install it on an ibm thinkpad-r50. can someone tell me what i need to get this to work off of the paralell port (printer port) of the thinkpad?

My guess is that you may need some special software to run it.
Perhaps go to compaq website, look for drivers, software, and search FAQ.

Good advice + great people = tek-tips

alidabiri,

There was an older device called "backpak" that was a floppy on parallel interface. You might Google for info on it also.
