floppy disk error

can any help. i have a disk with an excel file on which i can not open. i've tried copying using dos, explorer, etc but i get 'data error (cyclic redundancy check)' error.

Can any one help me rescue this file????????

If your drive works with other floppies, then the subject floppy is probably bad.

Have you tried scandisk on it? Usually when I get Errors on a disk that I know works(will work on other computers). I use scan disk and it will fix it.

doesnt scan with with scan disk, i know the disk is goosed, but ideas on recovery?????

A data recovery service may be able to recover the file, but it will be expensive.

OOPS!

Apologies in order to "thatrenowned" from me...Spinrite DOES work on floppies.

Meanwhile, I'll wipe this egg off my face.
