FLASHLIGHT EFFECT

Hi,
I am building a website for my church and I need help with an effect that looks like a flashlight. I don't know if it's done with a mouseover and would prefer not if possible. I would like to have my title lightup on form open if possible. Thank you very much for the help.

Let me give this a slight start.

As you know, it is possible to do many special effects IF you are willing to constrain your users:
- to a specific browser or version
- to a downloaded browser plug-in

Example: Effects intended for IE4 and above as "filters and transitions" may not do anything special at all for people who use Navigator instead of Internet Explorer.

Also, just what you mean by "flashlight" is not clear to me. Do you mean that only part of the title is visible at a time? Do you mean that "spotlights" cat a beam that pans the heading and alternately lights up parts of the message?

I'm not clear so please help me understand.

In any case, I will take a stab at a part answer, and hope that it is helpful at least.....

any group that could put out a newsletter, may find a website a much better communications tool

people who are travelling can follow the group's goings on...

people who are ill or shut-ins can keep in touch or qualify for for a friendly service (such as a visitor)

volunteer groups benefit widely from websites - not just business-to-business shopping cart types

a church is just a groups of people who join together to share common causes and struggle with their common set of beliefs and attitudes to life
