Is there anyway in JS to flash a minimized
window icon on the taskbar? For example,
a new mail comes in while the browser window
is minimized, I'd like to make it flashing
to get the user's attention.

Any ideas would be appreciated!!!

I need to do this as well... Did you end up finding a solution? Miles

The only way things flash in the taskbar is when you first open them but then choose another window, while the first one still loads. I have never seen this done with an Internet Explorer or Netscape window, because html loads too fast.

The only thing I could possibly see happening, is using onfocus, or onblur, to start to window loading then call another windows focus. But I'm not too big on how to use those events.

Not too sure though????????????????????????????????

Hmm good idea, but then is flashing taskbar apps an windows option? I'm beginning to realise that even if I do get it to work, it certainly won't work for everyone... Miles
