We are planning to upgrade our current 1.2 software to a 1.7- we were told the older one has a reputation for crashing. is this just a matter of swapping the cartridge or is there any programming issues?
If you upgrading to 1.7 (its still old one )you don't have to worry about the programming it will keep everything, just a matter of swapping the S/w card,But if you upgrade with the newer version 1.9 or higher the sytem will default and you will need to reprogram.
Be aware there are older Flash units that have capacitor problems and when the power goes out you loose all memory so if your crashes are due to power outage then thats most likely the problem but if it crashes on its own then most the software is at probably at fault.
Re programing fixes gliches if you do a re install on most softwares (KSU or Vmail).
1.44 was the only one I was aware of that had problems and Nortel offered a trade in for 1.7 free of charge back then.
