My company is looking at using flash in our website. I'm not sure as to what extent we will be incorporating flash, but to start off it will be for Animated Advertisments. I would like to think ahead to say that flash wouldn't just be used for static animation flash files, but rather at some point be used to also create more dynamic web pages, and small applications (eventually).

At what point will I be limiting myself by buying Flash Basic instead of Flash Professional?

If you want to use dynamic graphic filters, FLV video, data components, or mobile phone emulator, you have to get Professional. It seems to be all the new features of Flash 8 is not available in Basic, if you want to take advantage of them then go for Professional.
