fixed cell-length in Excel

Hi,
I must import MyText.txt in Excel,record of MyText.txt have various length upto 45 digits, do some changes on certain cells in Excel and than export to MyTextRev.txt with each cell with a the fixed length of 50 digits, if not blanks are to be added to the right. How to acomplish this export/transform procedure in Excel?

I don't know of any way to do this directly from
Excel. Import the Excel file into Access and set
the data type of each field to text and the length
of each field to 50 in table design mode. Then
export the file as a fixed length text file.
