I am about to embark on my first adventure in upgrading my Citrix boxes to FR3/SP3. They currently have Windows SP4 and FR1. Does anyone have any helpful hints/tips or a good instructional site for me to check out? I am very new to Citrix, I've been doing admin for it about 7 months now, but have never done any kind of installing or licensing with it and want to know what to watch out for...

Thanks,

I have always found this upgrade one of the most straightforward, but I'm going to be annoying and point you to your test server first :)

It is simply a matter of installing the software from the CD, performing an upgrade, then entering your Licenses in the CMC. You might then want to check that the Feature Release Level has been changed.

If you don't have a test lab, get hold of a PC and install MetaFrame on it, then do the upgrade. You won't need to activate it - in fact, it needn't be on the network (although it would help a great deal).

Good luck - and test it first!

Thanks CitrixEngineer! You have allayed much of my fears greatly! I will set it up on a test machine first...
Thanks Again!

Be sure you have the FR3 respin CD. When FR3 was originally released there was an issue that resulted in them creating a new install CD. I had the unfortunate experience of using the original CD and it was not a very good time.
