Seek help to choose between Apricorn firewire/us2.0 and Apricorn sata/usb2.0 external drive enclosure. Does the sata enclosure connect to the PC with a usb cable?

If the link below is the Apricorn product you're looking at, then it's the better choice:

eSATA (external SATA) allows for up to 300MB/s transfer rates, which is much faster than Firewire or USB. Even though a drive by itself won't need that much bandwidth, many do need to go above 50MB/s (firewire's limit) or 60MB/s (USB 2.0 limit), especially if you want to use this as a boot drive.

Thanks, that's the drive. Do I connect the drive to my PC with the the SATA or USB cable? The SATA ports of my PC are on the motherboard.

LOL got to smile.

Your motherboard has to have an external eSATA connection for this type of enclosure.
