If they are any good, it is a spoofed IP address. If it is real, try a "tracert" (from Windows) or "traceroute" (from UNIX). Either way you go, put the IP address after the command.
If it's not a spoofed address you can go to ARIN.net and enter the IP network number. It will give you the name of the company, organization, whatever, that the block is registered to and this gives you a starting point.
Also keep in mind that there are plenty of viruses that Replicate out through Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express E-mail directory. The person that you think is sending you a virus may not even know he is sending it to you.....
