Hi,

I'm running w2k servers and workstations.

I need a list of details of all the computers on our network. I'm looking for things like machine id or serial number and I'm not too keen on having to go round each computer individually.

Is there any way from my pc that I can get these details of all the other computers on the network. Or is there any utility out there that will help me accomplish the same.

Many thanx

yeah ive heard of some ghey auditing software that does it--although im not in the office at the mo--but i`ll post when im there and close to suicide :p MCSE NT&2K,CCNA/CCDA,CNA,ASE,NSP

I'm not sure how large your network is, but one suggestion would be to run an mmc with computer management. When you choose manage or connect to another computer, you get a list of all of the computers on the network and can go one by one getting a lot of info. Not sure if serial number would be there or not.
I am sure there are 3rd party things out there that would do this more easily and also a must if you have a lot of computers to hit. I have used the mmc when I need to check how much memory or HD space someone has, so it can be useful.

are we refering to MMC HAMMER or Microsoft managment console? :p MCSE NT&2K,CCNA/CCDA,CNA,ASE,NSP
