is there a find and replace thing in access like there is in excel and word?

If you are talking about changing a table name or a field name in all coding modules, I don't believe so, but I have heard mention of tools you can buy that will do this. Can't say how good they work or not. You should be able to browse the web and find something...

Hi Smiley! Well sort of if you want to search through any data in your fields or VB code! Hit F7 and see what you see. If you mean utilities to do as Terry mentions do a web search for a tool called SpeedFerret. Not available for 2000 though. Gord

i hit F7 and nothing happened, i tried ctrl+F7 and shft+F7 as well and nothing. what i was looking for it for was in txt boxes, i can copy a bunch and paste them, then i need to change the formula, like just change one word to another word which is used several times in the formula. but if there is not something that will do this then.... oh well, c'est la vie. B-)

Hi Smiley! BTW received your db but need an email to send it back. Do you have the binoculars on your toolbar? If so this should work as well (hopefully better than your) F7.

nope, no binoculars... what toolbar are they in?
funny, i just sent you an email asking if you got it. you can just reply to that one. for some reason my work email address is MESSED up, i'm in the process of getting them to give me a real address.

Should be on almost any tool bar- Form view, anywhere! See if you can customize one and add the binoculars to it!
And no not a chance on that email it's about a mile long with lots of scrambley thing in it...! Gord

yep, i found it, and guess what!! it even works!! :-V
can't you just reply to my email? and you won't have to type anything... i know, i hate my stupid address. hopefully "they" will be able to fix it...SOON!!
