Find Mac address in ipo

HI Guys

Just wondering is there away to find out the Mac Address of an ipo500 v1

Can you get it from a phone using system admin.

My problem is i dont have a config off the system and the ipo500 v1 i cant find the lan address either.

I have followed the DTE maintenance reset But I am certain the system is faulty.
How long does it take to show if system is reset.

No Config
Cant access it via lan
unable to reset to default with dte commands AT-x2,AT-x3 etc

Press the reset button:
Reset Button

The IP500 and IP500 V2 control units have a Reset button. Pressing the button while the control unit is starting up will pause the start up until the button is released. The effect of pressing the button during normal operation will depend on how long the button is pressed and is indicated by the CPU LED.

Press Duration (seconds) CPU LED Action Summary
0 to 5. Off None None.
5 to 10. Orange Reboot When Free Reboot when free with new incoming/outgoing call barring. A reboot using the reset
button is recorded in the Audit Trail.
10 to 30. Flashing orange Erase Configuration/Immediate Reboot Erase the configuration, alarm log and audit trail. Immediate reboot without waiting for
active calls to end. See Erasing the configuration for full details.
30 to 40. Red Erase All. Erase configuration, alarm log and core software. See Erasing the Operational Software
for full details.
Over 40. Flashing green None None.

If you have connected to it previously using Manager it will be in Manager under the BOOTP section, there should be a MAC address against the system name

Thanks I will try the reset first

I have never connected to the system before,
That's part of the problem I can't access it.

That's why I am trying to default it first the reprogrammed it.

Very small system
6 extension, 3 analogue lines

Connect with DTE and type this:

AT
at-debug
system

This will show the mac address if the system has power.

Im guess the OP needs the MAC because hes done an AT-X on it and now needs the entry in manager to upload BIN files to it! We've all been there Im sure the MAC is actually on the bottom of the device?

In that case, it shows in Managers TFTP log when it asks for the BOOTP file

The label on the box shows a serial number, it is the MAC address of the box.
Since the introduction of the IPO500 I have not used the serial cable for defaulting the system or erasing the config, use the reset button does it quicker as searching for the damn cable, starting up a comms app and entering the right commands.
The TFTP log only shows info if your PC is in the same subnet as the IPO, since the IP address of IPO is unknown I don't think it will show anything and if it does then you can get the config of the IPO in Manager without the need to know the MAC address.
You are all thinking too much in the old days with IPO400 boxes.

I did look at the label serial number and and it does have a 12 digit number.

I also looked at a working system on a 500 v2 and in manager.
The strange thing is they don't match .
The serial number on the box and MAC address are different

I will be installing a new 8.1 tomorrow and I will check if these match.

I assumed the label on the 500 v1 would be the MAC address
My problem is I can't get into the system via LAN as I don't know the address

I was try to factory reset so as I can start all over again on the v1 system

If you dont know the ip address then connect a serial cable and run a comms tool ( putty ) 38400 baud an start up IPO, then it will show the IP addres in hex for LAN 1 and LAN 2 if there is a config, if not then it will hang in the bootloader.
If that is the case then use a tftp client ( 3COM tftp ), setup the right path to the bin files and start up IPO with a direct cable to your pc lan, make sure your PC has a fixed ip address.
