I saw this great feature in XP longhorn which allows you to have filters on folder views in windows explorer, for instance in the Name column, there is a text entry field much like the one used in Active Directory, which allows you to type in a string to filter by.

I have searched with no luck for a program to add this functionality to Windows XP, as I think it would be extremely useful when wanting to find a certain file within a directory of thousands of files, without having to alter the view order and scroll through all the files every time.

I would be really grateful if anyone here knows of such a program ??

Thanks

Marc

PS sorry if this should belong somewhere else.. or nowhere at all.
