filter to part of a record

Hi All

I have query which I m trying to obtain sales performance per sales person. Each sales person is allocate 2 initial, which is used to track which sales person submitted a quote, followed by an a 4 figure number which is unique to each quote, which makes up the complete enquiryID, as below:

BG**** - salesman 1
TW**** - salesman 2
KK**** - salesman 3

what i would like is to enter into the criteria to filter to only the first 2 letters, is this possible?
