filling records in Access

txt file imported into table

When the table is imported, there are records with some field2 null (the null field2 is the same content as the previous record field2, but in the txt file the state only fills in the first record field2 for a client.

Can anyone assist me with the code or a query method to 'fill' the blank in field2, based on the preceeding record?

Either do it through VBA code or if your records have a common key use a update statement after the import.
