I am using W2K Pro and I have setup IIS. I first had an error of updateable query and that was repaired as I gave full control to users Adminstrator,Internet Guest Account, other user besides Administrator. These permissions are on the folder and on. The next error was that the page was not loading and it was just hanging there forever. I removed all files and database connections and added them back one by one. I found that the include file which has my text hit counter using the filesystemobject is causing all pages not to load. I am using the NTFS system. What other permission do I need to set? Has anyone had this error before?

You need to Allow Full Control to Everyone on the Database folder and the Folder where you have uploaded the counter text file Under the security tab.

Also, if your using an antivirus product you need to turn off script protection, otherwise it will protect you from the filesystemobject manipulating your file system and will hang forever and forever (I once let one hang for almost an hour back before I knew this).
For some reason, if I remember correctly, just turning off the antivirus program doesn't work, you have to actually turn off the internal script protection option.

For example, in Norton antivirus 7 (2001?) click Options then go down the tree in the window that pops up to Script Blocking and click it. Then uncheck the box that says "Enable script blocking".

Perfect Tarwn that was it. Script Blocking! I turned it off in Norton Antivirus 2003 and it works perfectly now.
