Howdy, we have a windows 2003 web edition server that I'd like to use as a dedicated file server for 25 client computers. Unfortunatly it seems like there is a hard coded limit of 10 users with web edition, can I add sessions somehow or do I HAVE to install 2003 server standard edition? I already own 25 cals for 2003 server for our site

Web Edition does not support hosting ActiveDirectory domains, so in that sense it acts just like trying to use 2000/XP Pro as a server - you'll get to use 10 "workgroup" connections only internally.

It is not meant to be used as a file server. You will need to get Standard server if you want to set up a domain and dedicated file/app serving.
