Hi
I am getting the following error
------------------------------------------------------------
The File Replication Service is having trouble enabling replication from 2000DC to DCFILES for c:\winnt\sysvol\domain using the DNS name 2000dc.ourdomain.com. FRS will keep retrying.
Following are some of the reasons you would see this warning.
[1] FRS can not correctly resolve the DNS name 2000dc.ourdomain.com from this computer.
[2] FRS is not running on 2000dc.ourdomain.com.
[3] The topology information in the Active Directory for this replica has not yet replicated to all the Domain Controllers.
This event log message will appear once per connection, After the problem is fixed you will see another event log message indicating that the connection has been established.
----------------------------------------------------------
Now the error is fine, I know what that is.... I tried to update my old PDC to Windows 2000 Server, but it would not reconise my SCSI card, so in the end I made a new PDC on a temp machine, upgraded it to 2000, and then added to new DC machines, no problem. I then made all the changes needed (I thought) to turn off the first DC, this looked to have worked, for months now we have not had any problems, but, I still get this error, and it does not let me delete the temp machine 2000DC from Active Directory Sites and Services...
Any help would be nice.
Simon
