Since upgrading our company's computers, when I go to open a file in a program (any program - Adobe Pagemaker, Microsoft Word, etc.) all the files listed in the 'Open Publication' box are arranged by date. Previously, all files were listed by name.

I can click on the list/detail option in the 'Open Publication' box, choose detail, than click on the Name button, and the files will be changed to being listed by name. But only for that session, next time I go to open a file it's gone back to listing by date.

I can get Windows Explorer to list folders and files by name and I have tried going into 'Folder Options' in Windows Explorer to alter the view. Nothing seems to work. While on the phone to Microsoft's $35.00 tech support I snuck this question in (while dealing with a different issue) and they said hold down the Control key while making selections in the 'Open Publication' box - this did not work. PLEASE HELP! THANKYOU!

have you tried doing this stuff directly on the server our just on your workstation?
