Greetings.

In using a 3 server Citrix Metaframe Farm, I have a 4th machine that stores the users profiles. This machine is on a win2000 server box. If I try to path to any folder in the profile folder I get access denied. This is under an admin login too. I can take ownership but I still am not allowed to move or copy anything from there because it will say file in use or something along those lines even though they are not as far as the user of that folder being logged in.
For example Harry Pitts logs out of Citrix and goes home.
I want to take HPits off of the Citrix domain completely and have him just run under our company domain.
Harry has lots of files, favorites, etc stored on his named folder in the Profiles folder. Harry can not even be around let alone logged in and I will still get file in use or whatever when I try to copy everything form his folder to a new folder on the domain. This never fails to denigh me no matter who I try it with.
For referance, the server that stores the profiles is called Dom2. I have installed the UPHClean utility in hopes it would let me pull these files, no go.
To recap-when I try to copy or cut something from a users profile folder off of Dom2 I get: Access Denied, the source file may be in use.

This is only after I have taken authority rights to the folder under admin. If I didnt, I could not even get in the folder period, it would say access denied.

Is there a service I need to stop or something so I can pull files for use off Citrix?

Please advise, thanks.

I had a similar issue its something to do with windows only granting the user and system exclusive rights to some of the files in the users profile, never really worked out the exact fix, but it worked out to be something like....

1) Take ownership and ensure ownership is propogated to all(still some errors about access denied)
2) Set permissions of full control for admin user and propogate to all files and folders of that specific user profile
3) Take ownership again and propogate...

Hope that helps?
