Filemaker Pro 4.1 DB's and Win'XP

After migrating to Win'XP we started seeing an error that says "Communication with the host was interrupted and could not be re-established. (-20)" at which point the FMP DB, which is on a server, fails to display. We then have to force quit the application and start all over. This was not the case in W'98 which was accessing the same FMP server and database. Any ideas on what may be happening here? We've tried setting the NIC speed to 10/half, 10/full, 100/half, 100/full, and Auto but error persists. Thanks to all in advance...

Have you tried disabling the firewall on XP? Also check in start, control panel, power options to make sure that the NIC does not get swtiched off to save power.

Hi and thanks for your input. I failed to mention that we are successful in connecting to the database and are able to work in it. The error appears randomly while working in the DB. Sometimes very frequently and other times it appears once or twice every few hours.

Also, the NIC is not set to turn off. Any other suggestions?
