in windows explorer the file view changes from folders on top and individual files below all in alphabetic order to
the reverse, that folders are on bottom and files on top starting with z going to a etc.

this has happened twice now after i restored registry and fixed it temporarily. changing file views doesnt help- it acts as if it is upside down in some way?

i do run mcafee antivirus and keep it updated so im at a loss- any help?

thanks

It sounds as if you have details selected under views, if you look at the top of the window with the files listed in it you should see a little bar called name on the left. There is a small, faint, arrow probably pointing up right now.
Click on the name bar, the arrow should now be pointing down and your file listing should be going from folders to files starting with folders in the "a" group.
