file sharing on windows xp

I need to set up file sharing so i can get to the files on this windows machine from my macs.
I think it needs to be in a workgroup.
they are both on the network.

kentucky, you are correct they need to be in the same workgroup. It is also helpful to turn on File Sharing or Windows File Sharing on your Mac's. While not neccessary, I have found that it keeps everything happy.
