One of our departments wants to setup an electronic filing system (basicaly just a directory structure) but wants certain people to be able to copy files into this directory, but not be able to edit anything else sitting on this directory. So in order for them to be able to copy files to it they need edit access, so this causes a problem. I think it may be possible to get the right combination of allow and deny permissions to perhaps trick windows into granting me this function, however I wondered if anyone had ever done this and could give me an easy way, or if perhaps there was an add on that would allow this.

Thanks

We have used what i call letterbox folders before. I basically just give them write permission to the folder so they can drag a file into the folder but not open it to view the contents.

When you are the IT director, it's your job to make sure the IT works. If it does work they know already and if it doesn't, they don't want to hear your pathetic excuses.
