hello all,

When backups are running on the Networker server, the file /nsr/logs/messages stayed always empty.
Is someone has already seen this case?
What is the way to correct it?

Thanks for your tips

Look at your Log default notification and see whether it has been corrupted/changed.

It could also simply be that the system logging has changed.

Could it be marked read-only or something? Try to shut down NetWorker, delete or rename the file and start NetWorker again. A new messages should be created and hopefully now NW will log info to it. Hope it helps!

Cheers!

Where is the Log default notification file located ?
I checked also the rights for the messages file and it is OK. This file has never been filled since the first install.

hi,

On my sun server the networker info gets logged to /nsr/logs/daemon.log, the /nsr/logs/messages just duplicates the syslog messages.

hi,
Yes, I get info in daemon.log, but the networker or system should also filled the info in the messages... There is something that did not run correctly.
I checked also the Log default notification as 605 said.
I get the following setting:
/usr/ucb/logger -p daemon.info; # was: daemon.notice

Is someone has the definition?

Cheers
