Just wanted to offer another possible means for searching for files to get their paths, modified date, and other properties. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with any of the methods offered so far.

For those who primarily search their local computer. Read the following article:
The article shows a method of using VBScript (w/ ADO) to query Windows Desktop Search v.3 Index for all the information it can collect. It can provide paths, file names, size, file extension, DateAccessed, DateAcquired, DateArchived, DateCompleted, DateCreated, DateImported, DateModified, the content of certain files, and much more. You can query the information using SQL syntax and have it return the data nice and ordered.

For those that do not wish to install Windows Desktop Search v.3, you can also use ADO to query MS Indexing Service on a local or remote machine. See:
These methods may prove useful for those who need to search through thousands of files for certain file properties or their content on a frequent basis. It may also prove easier to modify their query string to return certain data instead of changing the logic of their scripts.

Again, just my two cents!
