File information on open files - DSOfile.dll can't! 1

I'm using DSOFile to retrieve document properties such as revision number. This works well, but now I need to read the properties of files that are currently open.
DSOfile does not support this, any ideas of how I can do this?

If your own app is opening the files, then use DSO before they actually open

So near, so far!
I don't know the file details until the file is already open. It's a Crystal Report and I need to display the file information on the report. Some of the info is mad available by Crystal, but not the revision number.
Any other ideas?
