File in use by another user error 1

I am a IT Manager at a architecture firm that has a strange problem. Users get errors that they can not save a file because it is in use or can not open. The file is not in use and the file is not read only. The folder that the file is in is not read only and when I do a whohas command it shows the only user in the file is the one with the error.

Thanks for your help! I figured it probly was a Novell issue.

Well I looked over the links about Novell and autodesk. They seem to relate to NT4.0, Novell6 and Autodesk 14. We are using Autodesk 2004 and XP with Novell 6.

Any other ideas or directions to look?

File systems control read only access, not AutoCAD anymore. We get the problem occasionally when copying from a read only folder to a read write folder. Our IT admin has to reset permissions or move the files to a separate server to clear/reset permissions. We have also had an occasional read problem when someone copies files from a CD. They retain their read only props. But I do not think that pertains to you from what you said.
