File Formats: AutoCAD 2004 & AutoCAD 2006

Does anyone know if there is any difference between file formats for AutoCAD 2004 and 2006? Or are the differences in functionality only?

Also, do people like 2006 over 2004? Are there any administrative issues between the 2 versions?

The DWG format has stayed the same since 2004 but I expect it to change with 2007.
