I am trying to setup file auditing on our Windows 2000 Server.
I have followed KB300549:
1. Use Group Policy snap-in to enable the Audit Objects Access setting in Audit Policy
2. Using Windows Explorer right click relevant directories and click properties, security, advanced, auditing. Added 'everyone' to a group and ticked Succesful/Failed.
The first couple of times I did this I received an error:
"The current audit policy for this computer does not have auditing turned on. If this computer gets audit policy from the domain, please ask a domain administrator to turn on auditing using group policy. Otherwise, use the local computer policy editor to configure the audit policy locally on this computer."
But this has now cleared following a reboot.
When I check the event log for security there is no information.
Please help.
