When MBS purchased Omni Field Security from Winthrop Dexterity Consultants, they split the one module into two, separating the scripting component out so that it required separate registration.
Since it's release as an MBS product, the Field Level Security Scripting module has been withdrawn from sale and even though the code is still part of the Advanced Security dictionary for 7.0 and 7.5, it has actually been removed from the version 8.0 code.
The reason for the withdrawal (other than low demand, due to the high cost) was that it poses a security risk. The scripting capability would allow a malicious user to write code that can bypass all the application level security to either retrieve or destroy important data.
If you already have it registered, there are some great demos on the FAQ pages of
Otherwise, you would need to use VBA or Dexterity to do conditional security or row level security.
NOTE: I do have a row level security demo as a proof of concept that works with the lesson company.
I hope this explains it all.
