fibre gbic interface wont come up cisco

i have a cisco 3500 and the fibre interface wont come up i have issued the no shut

if i fibre cable from a 3500 to a 3500 it comes up
if i fibre an allied to allied the fibers come up

but if i fiber from allied to the cisco it wont come up

have tried swapping tx and rx around

any ideas guru's ?

Is one gigabit and the other 100mb?

speed nonegotiate

on the gigabit fibre port - it worked on a 3560 switch for me

and now im able to access the allied being that the fiber to copper cisco is up i can see why

the allied was set to 1000 full - in other words negioation was turned off at one end , both ends have to be enabled for negioation to work

I think it's because you are spelling "fiber" wrong...lol. Just kidding. I know---it's a British thing...
