Hello,
We have been deploying 4620, 4621 IP phones in our company and the feature button assigned to dial the Audix extension to check the voicemail appears as "AD 8" for Abreviated-dial 8.
I would like to rename this button "Voicemail" but I have not find a way to do it.
I found the option on the phone to relabel some of the buttons, but does not let me change this one.
Also when I change other buttons they go back to the old name when we log off and log back in.
Any help would be appreciated.

Use an abbreviated system-list dial button:

Code:
display abbreviated-dialing system Page 7 of 7

Did you set this AD up as a system Abbreviated Dial?

If so, you would change the label there, not on the phone.

If you're manually labeling the phones, you'll need to set up the back-up feature in the 46xxsettings file as well.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. ARISTOTLE 384-322 B.C.

We had a lot of issues getting button labels to retain when they were customized locally on the phone. Even with the Backup Feature being used.

We had to upgrade to at least CM 3.1.4 (going to 5.1 soon) and had to upgrade the phones to firmware 2.9.012 before it would hold.

The issue was that if a site went into ESS or into LSP, the button labels would drop.

Thanks guys, the abbreviated system-list was the solution.
Our system did not have a label for this button, so I assigned one and worked.
I'm very glad to be on this forum, I'm learning a lot and I hope to be of help to others in the future.
